Makinde cautioned those instigating discord over the stool to cease their activities in the interest of the state.
He made these remarks while extending his welcome to Muslim faithful, including members of his cabinet and other high-ranking government officials, at his residence in Ikolaba, Ibadan, the state capital.
The governor also mentioned that he had not received any official communication from the Olubadan-in-Council regarding a nomination for the stool.
Expressing his bewilderment, Makinde questioned why some individuals were focusing on issues that create divisions within the state along traditional lines, emphasizing that such actions have no place under his administration.
In a separate development, the kingmakers in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, scheduled Thursday, April 11th, for the official ratification and announcement of Owolabi Akinloye Olakulehin, the current Balogun of Ibadanland, as the new Olubadan of Ibadanland.
This decision was reached during a meeting held on Monday at the Iwo Road residence of a former President of Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Chief Bode Amao.
It’s important to note that the kingmakers in Ibadan consist of eleven High Chiefs who are also members of the Olubadan-in-Council.
