As reported by The Nation, the Secretary to the Oyo State Government (SSG), Prof Olanike Adeyemo, formerly served as the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research, Innovation, and Strategic Partnerships) at UI.

Governor Makinde reiterated his commitment to commencing the development of the Agbowo Shopping Complex, emphasizing its significance in his administration’s agenda to revitalize state assets.

He assured that the project’s contractor would mobilize to the site in the coming weeks. Additionally, he pledged to undertake the Junction Improvement of the University of Ibadan Main Gate, complete with a pedestrian bridge connecting to the Agbowo axis.

Speaking during the unveiling of the billboard commemorating the UI @ 75 anniversary on the University Campus over the weekend, Governor Makinde sought ongoing support and cooperation from the University of Ibadan community. He requested patience, acknowledging that traffic disruptions would be inevitable once the projects commence.

In congratulating the school management on its achievements, the governor highlighted the University of Ibadan’s reputation as the intellectual hub not only of Nigeria but also of the entire African continent. He recognized the institution for producing intelligent personalities with a global impact.
