Speaking at the official inauguration of the 2024 Sallah Mega Motor Park Rally in Abuja, FRSC Corps Marshal, Dauda Ali-Biu, revealed the comprehensive measures put in place to enhance safety on Nigerian roads.

Ali-Biu emphasized the importance of the deployment of regular and special marshals, as well as operational equipment such as radar guns and breathalysers, to enforce traffic regulations effectively.

Under the theme “Overloading is a Time Bomb: Stop the Deaths, Do not Overload with Persons, Animals or Goods,” the FRSC aims to raise awareness about the dangers of overloading vehicles.

Ali-Biu stressed the significance of addressing critical offenses like overloading, driving rickety vehicles, and excessive smoke emission to mitigate road accidents.

The deployment spans 52 critical corridors across the country, with a focus on curbing drunk driving, speeding, and other risky behaviors. Tow trucks and bikes have also been mobilized to facilitate swift response to emergencies.

Commanding Officers have been directed to intensify patrol operations and ensure strict enforcement of traffic laws to safeguard lives and property.

Ali-Biu reaffirmed the FRSC’s commitment to tackling road safety challenges head-on, underscoring the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies and the public.

As Nigeria prepares for increased vehicular movement during the festive season, the FRSC’s proactive measures aim to reduce accidents and promote responsible driving habits.

With a dedication to enhancing road safety nationwide, the FRSC encourages motorists to adhere to traffic regulations and exercise vigilance on the roads.

“THIS WILL BE YOUR LEGACY!” – Peter Obi Sends Shocking 2027 Warning Direct To President Tinubu

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on President Bola Tinubu to guarantee a transparent, credible electoral process in 2027, emphasizing that doing so will define the President’s legacy.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, the former Anambra State governor urged Nigerian youths to actively champion the cause for electoral integrity, noting that their future depends heavily on the outcome of transparent elections.

Obi also dismissed claims that widespread support from state governors ensures a presidential victory. According to him, the endorsements of the 36 state governors do not automatically align with the actual votes and desires of the populace.

Drawing a historical comparison, Obi praised late President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua for acknowledging flaws in the election that brought him into power and actively reforming the system to ensure subsequent polls were fair.

Furthermore, Obi criticized the ideological state of Nigerian political parties, arguing that political platforms in the country currently lack clear principles—pointing out how politicians facing corruption allegations often appear exonerated simply by defecting to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

“Thirty-six governors support the president, but the people in the states are not necessarily with them,” Obi stated. “What I am asking for is a free, fair, and credible election, which will go down as part of his legacy. I am begging the youths, whose lives and futures are at stake, to come out and join me in demanding credible polls.”

“When Yar’Adua became president, he admitted the process that brought him into office was faulty and committed to ensuring it wouldn’t happen again. He demonstrated it, and subsequent elections were free and fair,” Obi added. “For me, no political party in Nigeria today has a real ideology. Otherwise, the APC’s ideology shouldn’t be that once you defect to their party, you are no longer corrupt.”
