Crisis Rocks Adamawa Labour Party As LG Chairmen Sack State Chair....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A storm is brewing within the Adamawa State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) as local government chairmen take a decisive stand against the state chairman, Christopher Nicholas, and the entire state executive committee.…READ ALSO

In a bold move, 18 out of the 21 local government chairmen of the LP convened in Yola, the state capital, to oust Nicholas and his team, citing allegations of incompetence and anti-party activities.

Led by Rev. Iliya Mathias, the chairman of the LP Association of Local Government of Nigeria in Adamawa State, the chairmen accused Nicholas of wielding power recklessly and mismanaging party resources. They further alleged that Nicholas held dual roles as the state chairman of both the Labour Party and the Accord Party, undermining the integrity and focus of the LP.

Their grievances extended to Nicholas’s poor communication skills and inability to foster unity within the party, resulting in strained relationships with key stakeholders and dismal performance in the 2023 governorship election.

In response to the removal of Nicholas and the state executive committee, the Adamawa LG chairmen have announced the formation of a seven-member state caretaker committee to oversee party affairs. This move signals a significant shift in leadership dynamics within the LP in the state.

However, Apostle Ezra Kwaya, a member of Nicholas’s executive committee, expressed surprise at the sudden upheaval, claiming that the local government chairmen had never formally raised concerns about Nicholas’s leadership prior to this action.

As the crisis unfolds, all eyes are on the LP National Working Committee to address the discord and chart a path forward for the party in Adamawa State.

Addressing broader political developments ahead of the 2027 elections during his monthly media parley, Wike emphasized that he refuses to remain a passive spectator and let African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar secure a victory. Defending his frequent presence in Rivers State, the minister rejected labels that he had permanently relocated, explaining that he needs to stay actively connected with local constituents rather than sitting comfortably in Abuja and trusting unverified assurances from political allies. ‘They Are Deceiving Makinde, He Will Lose Supporters Before 2027 Elections – Ojo

Published

on

Adebayo Mutalubi Ojo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Oyo State Commissioner for Justice, has cautioned that Governor Seyi Makinde is likely to face a mass withdrawal of support from key political allies ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking on the political podcast OpenForum360, Ojo noted that the true political dynamics in the state will surface by December 2026, claiming that many politicians currently pledging loyalty to Makinde are merely biding their time before openly opposing his preferred gubernatorial successor, Bimbo Adekanmbi.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The former commissioner pointed out that while Makinde’s high popularity remains his greatest political asset, it could simultaneously turn into a heavy liability. Because Adekanmbi is heavily backed by the governor, Ojo likened their political alignment to “Siamese twins,” warning that Adekanmbi will inevitably inherit both Makinde’s political goodwill and his adversaries. He further criticized the internal handling of party politics, suggesting that a transparent and democratic primary process within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might have altered the turbulent reactions surrounding the choice of successor.

Drawing comparisons to internal fissures within the All Progressives Congress (APC)—where figures like Adebayo Adelabu, Senator Buhari, and others have navigated distinct political positions—Ojo asserted that many within Makinde’s camp are masking their true reservations. He warned that similar quiet discontent previously led to severe electoral consequences for ruling parties in places like Osun State. Concluding his assessment, Ojo expressed personal regard for Adekanmbi as a friend, but cautioned that the inner circle surrounding the candidate risks insulating him from harsh political realities.
