Adeleke Denies Allegations Of N18 Billion Government House Renovation Amidst Corruption Claims....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has firmly rebutted allegations made by the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the purported spending of N18 billion on renovating the Government House. The APC had called upon anti-corruption agencies to probe the state’s finances following these claims.
In a statement released by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke dismissed the APC’s assertions as unfounded, labeling them as “fake news.” He clarified that his administration had not borrowed N10 billion for infrastructure projects across the state, contrary to what the APC had alleged.
The governor urged the APC to acknowledge its shortcomings during its tenure in Osun State and recognize the current government’s achievements instead of resorting to baseless accusations. He emphasized that his administration’s commitment to transparency and accountability remains steadfast.
According to Governor Adeleke, the state government has not incurred any loans since its inception to finance its projects. He reiterated that the administration’s strategy revolves around fiscal discipline, revenue enhancement, and prudent financial management to fund developmental initiatives without resorting to borrowing.
The alleged N18 billion expenditure on renovating the Government House, according to Governor Adeleke, is a gross misrepresentation of facts. He asserted that the renovation project, aimed at addressing infrastructural deficits inherited from the previous administration, is being executed responsibly within the state’s financial capabilities.
The governor affirmed that the government’s investment and implementation plans are sustainable and do not entail taking on additional debt. He underscored the importance of prioritizing the state’s resources for the betterment of its citizens and ensuring effective utilization of funds for developmental purposes.
As the controversy surrounding the alleged misappropriation of funds persists, Governor Adeleke remains resolute in his commitment to upholding transparency, accountability, and good governance in Osun State. He called for a focus on constructive dialogue and collaborative efforts to address the state’s developmental challenges and propel it towards progress and prosperity.
