Prominent politicians, businessmen, captains of industry, and other esteemed dignitaries have gathered at the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Isiokpi, Ikwerre Local Government Area of Rivers State, to pay their last respects at the funeral service of Herbert Wigwe……..CONTINUE READING

The funeral service, hosted by the church, is honoring the former Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Plc, alongside his wife, Doreen, and son, Chizzy.

Among the distinguished guests in attendance are Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State, Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, and Dr. Godknows Igali, a former Nigerian Ambassador. Additionally, members of religious institutions, traditional rulers from Omoeke (Wigwe’s hometown), and monarchs from Isiokpo are also present to pay their respects.

In anticipation of the event, the state Commissioner of Police, Olatunji Disu, has overseen a significant security presence within Isiokpo and its environs.

The solemn occasion follows a Christian wake held in honor of the deceased in the community the previous day.

Herbert Wigwe, his wife, son, and former Group Chairman of Nigerian Exchange Group, Abimbola Ogunbanjo, tragically lost their lives in a helicopter crash near the border town between California and Nevada, United States, on February 9, 2024.

As friends, family, and associates gather to bid farewell to Herbert Wigwe and his loved ones, their legacy and contributions to society are fondly remembered and celebrated.
