Accompanied by former Nigerian Ambassador Dr. Godknows Igali, Governor Douye Diri joined other dignitaries, guests, and hundreds of mourners at the venue. Security was tight, with the state commissioner of police, Olatunji Disu, leading security personnel to ensure order and safety.

The ceremony has drawn clergy members, traditional rulers from Wigwe’s hometown, and monarchs from Isiokpo, highlighting the significance of the event in the community.

Dr. Herbert Wigwe, his wife, and son tragically died in a helicopter crash near the Nevada border in the United States on February 9, 2024. Access Holdings Plc, in an official statement, confirmed their passing, expressing deep sadness and extending sympathies to their family and loved ones.

The funeral service serves as a solemn tribute to Dr. Wigwe’s legacy and contributions, with attendees gathering to honor his memory and pay their respects to the departed souls.
