The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) recently made significant strides in combating drug trafficking, intercepting a Vietnam-bound businessman with a cocaine consignment at the Abuja airport and apprehending drug cartel members in Lagos with a substantial amount of cocaine, heroin, and methamphetamine…….CONTINUE READING

In a proactive operation at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport (NAIA), NDLEA operatives intercepted a 40-year-old businessman named Ejike Chibuke Solomon. Solomon was attempting to board an Ethiopia Airlines flight to Vietnam via Addis Ababa when he was apprehended. Upon subjecting him to a thorough search, NDLEA officers discovered 1.45 kilograms of cocaine concealed in his luggage. The illicit substance was meticulously hidden in his bag, indicating an intent to smuggle it undetected. Solomon was promptly arrested at the Abuja airport on Saturday, March 2, 2024.

During interrogation, Solomon claimed he was embarking on a business trip to Vietnam. However, the discovery of the concealed cocaine raised suspicions about the true nature of his activities.

Meanwhile, in a separate operation in Lagos conducted by a special unit of the NDLEA, members of a drug syndicate were targeted and apprehended. The operation, which took place on Friday, March 1, focused on individuals involved in trafficking methamphetamine, cocaine, and heroin.

During the raid on the residence of Esimone Amachukwu Christopher at 14 Arochukwu Street, Ejigbo, NDLEA operatives uncovered a significant quantity of methamphetamine weighing 10.012 kilograms. Christopher’s associate, 40-year-old Evelyn Nneka Okem, was found in possession of the illicit substance. However, Christopher managed to evade arrest and is currently at large.

Simultaneously, another team of NDLEA officers raided the residence of 45-year-old Ebele Edwin Iwuegbunam, located at Plot 1604 Close D, 4th Avenue, Festac town, Lagos. During the operation, Iwuegbunam was apprehended, and law enforcement recovered 429.5 grams of cocaine and 7 kilograms of heroin from his possession.

The coordinated efforts of the NDLEA in intercepting drug traffickers and dismantling drug syndicates demonstrate a commitment to curbing the illegal drug trade in Nigeria. By apprehending individuals involved in drug trafficking and seizing significant quantities of illicit substances, the NDLEA plays a crucial role in safeguarding public health and security.

The United States Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has arrested six individuals on its most-wanted fraudsters list following operations conducted across four continents.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The suspects were apprehended over allegations involving various fraudulent activities, according to FBI Director Kash Patel, who announced the development in a post on X on Sunday.

Patel disclosed that the arrests, alongside other enforcement operations, contributed to the seizure of assets worth approximately $17 billion.

He praised the FBI’s international fugitive-tracking efforts and its ongoing campaign against global scam centres, known as Operation Blackout.

According to the FBI director, the six fugitives had collectively spent more than 4,000 days evading arrest.

Patel said the suspects had apparently believed that leaving the United States and going into hiding abroad would place them beyond the reach of American law enforcement authorities.

“They were wrong,” he wrote, stressing that the FBI and its international partners would continue pursuing individuals accused of defrauding Americans, regardless of where they attempted to hide.

In a separate update on Operation Blackout, Patel revealed that the broader campaign had resulted in the seizure of nearly $17 billion, the arrest of hundreds of suspected fraudsters and the rescue of thousands of trafficked workers.

The operation has also involved raids on suspected scam centres, the disruption of online infrastructure used to facilitate fraudulent activities and efforts to identify individuals trafficked into working for criminal networks.

Patel further disclosed that more than 10,000 Americans had received warnings before losing their money, helping to prevent estimated financial losses of about $670 million.

“We’re not just investigating these criminal enterprises.

“We’re dismantling their networks, disrupting their finances, rescuing victims, and holding those responsible accountable,” he said.

The FBI director described the scam centres as criminal enterprises that exploit vulnerable individuals while targeting Americans through international fraud schemes.

He maintained that the agency would continue its efforts to bring those responsible to justice.

“To every criminal organization targeting Americans: Justice will find you,” Patel added.

The incident reportedly occurred on Sunday, October 25, 2026, in Lirr Bajar community, Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, disclosed the development in a statement, explaining that police operatives rescued the suspect from an angry mob that was threatening to lynch her.

According to the police, the incident began when Fatima and her 30-year-old husband, whose marriage was barely a few months old, engaged in an argument over money, wrappers and a mobile phone she claimed belonged to her.

The disagreement reportedly escalated into a physical confrontation, during which the suspect allegedly picked up a knife and stabbed her husband in the stomach.

In the statement, the police spokesperson described how the domestic dispute turned violent.

“On 25th October, 2026, at about 0600hrs, what started as a heated argument between husband and wife in Lirr Bajar, Dass LGA, turned bloody,” the statement read.

Habib explained that Fatima had confronted her husband over the items she claimed he was keeping in his possession, but the disagreement soon escalated.

“Words failed. Tempers flared. The argument turned into a physical fight.

“In a moment of rage and desperation, Fatima reached for a knife lying close by and stabbed her husband in the stomach,” the statement added.

The victim reportedly collapsed and began bleeding, prompting residents to gather at the scene. An angry mob allegedly threatened to attack the suspect before officers from the Dass Divisional Police Headquarters arrived.

The police rescued Fatima from the mob and rushed her injured husband to a hospital, where he is receiving treatment.

The command confirmed that the suspect had been detained and the knife allegedly used in the incident recovered.

According to the statement, the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Bauchi for further investigation.

Reacting to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, expressed concern over cases of domestic violence involving young couples.

He urged couples to resolve disagreements through peaceful dialogue and seek the intervention of family members, elders or lawful authorities instead of resorting to violence.

“A moment of anger can destroy two lives forever. We urge couples to seek peaceful means, through family, elders and lawful channels, instead of resorting to violence,” the commissioner advised.

Aliyu also cautioned residents against taking the law into their own hands, stressing that the command remained committed to ensuring that justice was served professionally and humanely.
