The downpour also impacted communities like Abule-Egba, Command, Agege, and Egbeda, causing significant delays in vehicular movement.

Confirming the situation, Ibrahim Farinloye, the Territorial Coordinator of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in the South West, stated that emergency responders from state and federal agencies were mobilized to rescue trapped victims.

Farinloye urged residents of Command Area to seek alternative routes, advising against using Command and its environs due to the inundation of the bridge in the neighborhood.

Efforts by NEMA, the fire service, and the police are underway to evacuate affected individuals from the area.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, suspected armed herdsmen unleashed chaos in Apa, Kwande, and Guma Local Government Areas of Benue State, resulting in the deaths of ten individuals and injuries to many others.

Reports indicate that the assailants, moving through various Benue communities with their cattle during the dry season, carried out relentless attacks on Ubele, Ochumekwu, Adija, Kano, and Ijaha in Apa LGA over the past three days.

Eche Akpoko, the National Chairman of the Apa Development Association, expressed deep concern over the continuous violence and killings in Apa by these attackers, highlighting the urgency of addressing the escalating security challenges in the region.

With this final legal hurdle cleared, Governor Oyebanji’s position is secure, following his subsequent victory in the 2026 Ekiti State governorship election, where he polled 319,224 votes.
