According to a source within the agency, the investigation revolves around the alleged diversion, misappropriation of funds, and money laundering during Ahmed’s governorship from 2011 to 2019.

2027 Election: Productivity Or Ruin? Alaje Reveals What Nigerians Must Demand From Presidential Candidates.
Senior Economist at SPM Professionals, Paul Alaje, has warned that any presidential candidate who fails to prioritise productivity could damage Nigeria’s economy if elected in 2027.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The leading contenders in the forthcoming presidential election include President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peter Obi of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics, Alaje urged Nigerians to scrutinise candidates’ economic plans, particularly their proposals for increasing national productivity and improving living standards.
He challenged presidential hopefuls to present practical policies capable of boosting economic output and creating better opportunities for Nigerians.
“Anybody who is not discussing productivity is going to run the economy down,” he said.
When asked what Nigerians should consider before choosing a candidate in the 2027 election, the economist emphasised the importance of policies that would improve citizens’ purchasing power and make basic necessities more affordable.
“Any candidate who is telling you that the money in your pocket will buy more, will improve more, and will afford your rent, that is the candidate you should vote for,” Alaje stated.
Meanwhile, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has described former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi as political gamblers.
Wike accused the opposition figures of pursuing presidential ambitions without presenting a clear vision for the country.
The minister made the remarks on Friday during a Rainbow Coalition town hall meeting in Ayama, Abua/Odual Local Government Area of Rivers State.
Addressing traditional rulers, political leaders, academics, women and youths, Wike urged Nigerians to assess presidential candidates based on their records rather than campaign promises.
He particularly criticised Atiku over his repeated attempts to become Nigeria’s president.

‘Yes, They Are Truly Mad’ – Presidency’s Onanuga Hits Back At Amaechi In Fresh Exchange.
Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy to President Bola Tinubu, has responded to Rotimi Amaechi, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) vice-presidential candidate, over his remarks describing supporters of the current administration as mad.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Amaechi, a former Minister of Transportation, reportedly made the comments during a town hall meeting in Benin City, Edo State, where he said only “mad people” and “thieves” would vote for Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election.
He criticised the President’s economic policies, describing the removal of the fuel subsidy as “reckless”, and urged residents of Edo State to reject Tinubu at the polls in 2027.
Amaechi also argued that Nigerians campaigning for the President’s re-election should not be trusted, adding that those planning to vote for Tinubu were not thinking clearly.
He said the 2027 election would show the number of Nigerians willing to support the President and maintained that Edo residents should vote against Tinubu if they wanted to demonstrate sound judgment.
Reacting to the remarks in a post on his X account, Onanuga acknowledged that Tinubu’s supporters were indeed “MAD”, but gave the word a different meaning.
According to the presidential aide, the acronym stands for “Motivated, Assured and Determined”, describing the qualities he believes characterise supporters of Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Onanuga wrote: “Rotimi Amaechi: Yes, we, the followers and supporters of President Tinubu, are truly MAD. Read why we are.
“Motivated, driven by purpose and passion. Assured, confident in our vision and victory.
“Determined, focused, resolute, and unstoppable for President Tinubu’s re-election.”
