This directive was conveyed by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Ajuri Ngelale, in a statement released on Thursday evening.

Ngelale explained that this directive aims to ensure unwavering reverence for the national symbols, bolster allegiance and loyalty to the country, and uphold Nigeria’s values and identity.

The President underscored the importance of respecting national principles, advancing the nation’s aspirations, and adhering to its established standards.

The statement reads, “President Bola Tinubu has ordered the obligatory recitation of the National Pledge after the National Anthem at every official and public gathering.

“Before departing for my engagements this morning, I requested a copy of the National Pledge, and we must reintroduce it at this event. The reintroduction is a demonstration of our commitment to the values, greatness, and aspirations of our nation.

“It is our solemn vow to Nigeria, our beloved country, to remain faithful, loyal, and truthful. To dedicate ourselves to Nigeria with all our might – as we witnessed on the sports field yesterday. We all celebrated together.

“We all cherish victory. We strive for success. When we maintain positivity and hope, Nigeria emerges victorious.

“We did not claim that the journey would be without challenges. However, we are confident that this nation will thrive in every aspect. We will uphold our unity and uphold Nigeria’s honor in every conceivable manner because we are Nigerians, and Nigeria is our only homeland.”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially dropped its legal challenge against the re-election of Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke just a day after the petition was made public at the election tribunal in Osogbo.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The lawyer responsible for the filing, Oluseyi Oyagbile, confirmed on Tuesday that he discontinued the case following fresh instructions from party leadership and his clients. The withdrawal comes in the wake of an internal dispute within the party; another legal faction headed by Abiodun Layonu (SAN) had previously distanced itself from the lawsuit, asserting that neither the party nor its standard-bearer, Bola Oyebamiji, authorized a challenge against the August 15 election outcome.

Oyagbile noted that before officially dropping the suit, he requested formal directives via WhatsApp from party leaders to clear up any ambiguity and prevent further friction. Two separate petitions—one attributed to the APC and another to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)—had surfaced on the tribunal’s notice board on Monday, both of which initially faced denials regarding their authorization from the respective parties. With the APC’s petition now dismissed, the ongoing legal scrutiny over the election rests on the remaining petition.
