“Anambra Monarch Suspended By Soludo Over Chieftaincy Title For Senator Ubah”
Anambra State Governor, Chukwuma Soludo, has taken decisive action by suspending Igwe Damian Ezeani, the traditional ruler of Neni in Anaocha local government area….CONTINUE READING....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The suspension comes in the wake of Igwe Ezeani conferring a chieftaincy title on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah, who represents Anambra South senatorial zone.
The suspension, issued indefinitely, was communicated to the embattled monarch through a letter from Collins Nwabunwanne, the Commissioner for Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs, and Town Union Matters. The letter accused Igwe Ezeani of violating the Code of Conduct for traditional rulers in Anambra State.
According to the letter, the Code of Conduct explicitly states that no traditional ruler can bestow a chieftaincy title on an individual from outside their domain without obtaining permission from the traditional ruler of the recipient’s community. In this case, it was reported that Igwe Ezeani did not seek clearance from Igwe Kenneth Orizu of Nnewi before conferring the title on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
Sections of the suspension letter highlighted the gravity of the violation, stating, “We have received confirmed reports that you, as the traditional ruler of Neni, conferred such a phantom chieftaincy title on one Senator Ifeanyi Ubah in violation of the Code of Conduct and without clearance from the Ministry.”
The letter continued, emphasizing that the motivation behind the action, whether for financial gain or otherwise, was irrelevant. The key concern was that the monarch’s actions posed a challenge to order and good governance.
Consequently, the suspension was announced, with the letter citing Governor Soludo’s exercise of powers under Section 2 (C) of the Anambra State Traditional Rulers (Amendment) Law, 2020.
Igwe Ezeani’s recognition as the traditional ruler of Neni has been suspended until further notice for the restoration of order and good governance.

Atiku Opens Up On ADC 2027 Game Plan, Says Consensus Candidate Comes First.
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has said the African Democratic Congress (ADC) will first pursue a consensus arrangement before considering a primary election for its 2027 presidential ticket.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Atiku made this known during an interview on Arise Television on Wednesday while discussing the party’s leadership and strategy ahead of the next general election.
He said he is open to backing a consensus candidate if that becomes the party’s collective decision, stressing that such support should not be interpreted as stepping aside.
“It is not about stepping aside, but whether I am willing to support, and yes, I will,” Atiku said.
According to him, the ADC’s first priority is to build internal unity and reach an agreement among stakeholders before considering a competitive primary process.
“Our first option will be to work out a consensus. If that doesn’t happen, then of course we will explore other options. And yes, I will support whoever eventually emerges,” he stated.
Atiku also expressed confidence in the political experience within the party, saying he believes a consensus is achievable and may make a full-scale primary contest unnecessary.
“That remains our preferred path. We will go for primaries if consensus fails, but I honestly do not expect it to get to that stage because we are dealing with mature and experienced politicians,” he added.
His comments come amid growing political consultations and coalition talks as parties begin to position themselves ahead of the 2027 general elections.
