In addition to his remarks on governance, he highlighted Lagos State’s significant economic progress under Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, noting an increase in GDP from under $100 billion to approximately $259 billion in purchasing power parity terms over the last six years, alongside rising income levels.

Addressing security concerns, Omokri dismissed claims that Nigeria is unsafe, pointing to the annual Detty December events in Lagos. He stated that the festivities draw 1.2 million tourists—making it Africa’s largest tourism event—without a single fatality or injury recorded.

Highlighting specific infrastructure and administrative milestones, Omokri pointed out that despite international disruptions affecting the global oil market—such as the crisis involving Iran that triggered fuel scarcity in the United States and the United Kingdom—Nigeria has remained free from product availability issues, sparing citizens from sleeping at petrol stations. Furthermore, he noted that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has not launched any prolonged, nationwide strikes since President Tinubu assumed office, allowing tertiary students to complete their academic programs within standard timeframes.

Addressing broader socio-economic challenges, Omokri contended that the nation’s primary hurdle is not insecurity, but rather the crisis of out-of-school children. He noted that Nigeria currently counts 20 million children out of school, emphasizing that the Tinubu administration is actively investing in the educational sector to tackle and mitigate this issue.
