Vice President Kashim Shettima has directed the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) to swiftly mobilize and provide essential assistance to the victims of a devastating drone attack on the Tudun Biri community in the Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State. Deeply moved by the situation witnessed at the hospital, Shettima instructed NEMA to ensure that the victims receive ample relief materials. Additionally, he revealed the Federal Government’s commitment to enhancing the Tudun Biri village, which currently lacks fundamental amenities such as schools and hospitals.

Highlighting the upcoming Pullako Initiative, slated to commence next month, Shettima explained that this initiative, endorsed by President Bola Tinubu, aims to uplift the lives of rural residents while rejuvenating regions grappling with insecurity. He stated, “The Pullako Initiative is the President’s unique response as a non-kinetic approach to the challenges in the North West, benefiting states including Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Katsina, Kaduna, as well as Niger and Benue States for the sake of equity and justice.”

In a post shared on his official X account on Monday, Shehu reacted to reports suggesting that only a small fraction of the Nigerian Army’s 2025 budget for security equipment has been released.

He stated that although over ₦20 billion was approved for the procurement of security equipment, only about ₦1.7 billion—roughly 7 percent—has reportedly been disbursed so far.

Shehu questioned the possible impact of the funding gap on troop safety, suggesting it could be linked to growing battlefield casualties.
