The appointed individuals are Oluwole Osin for the South-West, Mohammed Mustapha Bintube for the North-East, Olayiwola Yahaya for the North-Central, and Akwa Effion Okon for the South-South, as announced in a statement by Chief Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity.

In his directive to the new Council members, President Tinubu urged them to leverage their private sector expertise to ensure that Nigerians derive the maximum value and impact from investments made on their behalf.

Concurrently, Tinubu had recently sanctioned the appointment of Heineken Lokpobiri, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, as the Chairman of the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

Other notable appointments to the Board include Engr. Felix Omatsola Ogbe as the Executive Secretary, Oritsemyiwa Eyesan as Member/EVP Upstream, NNPCL, Gbenga Komolafe as Member/CEO, NUPRC, Bekearedebo Augusta Warrens as Member, Nicolas Odinuwe as Member, Raphael Samuel as Member, Sadiq Abubakar as Member, and Olorundare Sunday Thomas as Member.

In a post shared on his official X account on Monday, Shehu reacted to reports suggesting that only a small fraction of the Nigerian Army’s 2025 budget for security equipment has been released.

He stated that although over ₦20 billion was approved for the procurement of security equipment, only about ₦1.7 billion—roughly 7 percent—has reportedly been disbursed so far.

Shehu questioned the possible impact of the funding gap on troop safety, suggesting it could be linked to growing battlefield casualties.
