Breaking: Nasarawa PDP Urges Members To Ignore Governor Sule And APC Media Frenzy
Breaking: Nasarawa PDP Urges Members To Ignore Governor Sule And APC Media Frenzy....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Nasarawa State chapter of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a statement, urging its members and supporters to refrain from responding to the media frenzy and commentary coming from Governor Abdullahi Sule and his party, the APC. The statement, signed by Ibrahim Hamza, the State PDP Publicity Secretary, expressed concern about the behavior of Governor Sule and the Nasarawa State APC in response to a tribunal ruling. It alleged that the APC has been engaging in a media campaign through television, press conferences, social media, and press releases to discuss and analyze the tribunal’s judgment, even though the matter is pending in court. This behavior was criticized as a form of subjudicial conduct.
The PDP emphasized the importance of respectful and responsible communication and urged adherence to principles of justice, fairness, and the rule of law. The statement referenced a recent meeting with the State Director of the State Security Service (SSS), where both the PDP and APC party chairmen were advised to discourage their supporters from using offensive language and insults in their public statements.
The PDP claimed that it has taken steps to moderate the language used by its supporters and members in line with this advice, aiming to maintain a respectful tone and avoid escalating political tensions in the state. However, it accused Governor Sule, the APC, and their associates of failing to follow this approach and instead resorting to hurling insults. The statement also alleged that these parties have discussed matters pending before the courts on various media platforms, potentially undermining the integrity of the legal proceedings.
The PDP argued that the governor and the APC have been trying to influence public sentiment ahead of their appeal in court by spinning the outcome of the tribunal ruling. They have increased their media appearances, press conferences, social media posts, and press releases to analyze and interpret the judgment, all of which goes against the advice given by the State Director of SSS regarding the use of offensive language.
The statement concluded by reminding everyone that in a democracy, the courts play a crucial role in resolving legal disputes and upholding justice. Matters pending in court are subject to the legal system’s rules and procedures, designed to protect the rights of all parties involved and maintain the impartiality of the judicial process. Discussing such matters in the media not only undermines the integrity of legal proceedings but also undermines the principles of justice and peace, potentially attempting to intimidate or influence the courts.
