Abdullahi Ganduje, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has commended the Supreme Court’s ruling affirming President Bola Tinubu’s victory, considering it as evidence that the February 25 presidential election was conducted fairly and without manipulation. In a statement issued through his Chief Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, on Thursday, Ganduje extended his congratulations to Tinubu and urged the presidential candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Labour Party (LP), Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi, to postpone their ambitions until 2031 when Tinubu’s second term would conclude.
Ganduje emphasized that the Supreme Court’s judgment puts to rest all contentions raised by opposition parties. He believes that this verdict will enable President Tinubu to focus on implementing the “Renewed Hope” mandate of the APC for the betterment of Nigerians.
In his words, “Nigeria belongs to all of us, and it is our duty as patriots to combine our efforts to advance the nation. I congratulate both Atiku and Obi for their determined efforts in expanding the boundaries of our democracy and upholding the rule of law.
“This is democracy. Tinubu’s victory represents another triumph for democratic governance in the country. There is still an opportunity for both Obi and Atiku to pursue their presidential ambitions after President Tinubu’s second term in 2031.”
Ganduje also urged all Nigerians, regardless of their political affiliations, to unite and support the President in delivering more dividends of democracy and steering the nation towards sustainable progress.
