Breaking: INEC Reassures Nigerians Of BVAS Usage In Upcoming Governorship Elections....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has once again provided assurance to Nigerians, particularly the residents of Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states, that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) will be employed for voter authentication and that election results will be uploaded to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV) during the gubernatorial elections scheduled for November 11.
Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, the Chairman of INEC, made this announcement during the quarterly consultative meeting with the media at the Commission’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.
During the meeting, INEC’s chairman expressed his pride in the close collaboration between the media and the Commission. He also pledged to share the reports of the 2023 general election with the Nigerian public once they are finalized and published.
Yakubu stated, “I am glad to note that many of you here today are either directly involved in the coverage of the election or deploying teams of journalists to the three states. In fact, our updated statistics show that 94 media organizations, with 1,255 personnel, have been accredited for the elections. In the next few days, the accredited media organizations will be notified of the date for the collection of identity cards for their officials.”
Furthermore, he discussed a recent mock accreditation exercise conducted by the Commission, involving real voters at designated polling units in the three states. This exercise tested the effectiveness of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) for both biometric voter authentication and result uploads to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (IReV).
Yakubu noted, “Some of you observed the mock accreditation exercise and viewed the results on the IReV portal. We have received no adverse report so far. By this, we are encouraged that the test was successful, and we look forward to improved performance of the BVAS in voter accreditation and result uploads in the upcoming gubernatorial elections and beyond.”
