In a recent development, the Oyo State Police Command has apprehended three Islamic clerics suspected of being in possession of human body parts. The individuals, identified as Taofeeq Kabelohun and Rahmon Muibi, known as Alubarika, along with an unnamed third person, were taken into custody for their alleged involvement in the killing of a man in Ibadan last Thursday.
The trio was said to have conspired to lure the victim to a location in the Moniya area of Akinyele local government, where they ultimately committed the crime. Their arrest came about after police noticed blood seeping from the trunk of their car.
Disturbing footage that surfaced on Friday displayed the three suspects at the state’s Criminal Investigation Department in Iyaganku, Ibadan, exhibiting the victim’s head and other body parts they purportedly took. Notably, Kabelohun held the position of deputy imam (Mufasir) at Orisun Awotan Central Mosque in Awotan, Ido local government, prior to his arrest.
Reports from the community indicated that Kabelohun and Muibi had previously faced arrest for similar offenses at Peace Estate and Adaba community along the Apete-Akufo road. One source disclosed that they were caught attempting to extract body parts from a grave in Ibadan.
Meanwhile, Orisun Awotan Central Mosque’s leadership has removed Kabelohun from his position as Mufasir due to the ongoing murder investigation. The mosque announced the appointment of Mallam Abdulhakeem Abdulrasheed as the new Mufasir in a communique issued on Sunday.

THE END OF THE ROAD! Dramatic Court Verdict Seals The Fate Of Two Die-Hard Cultists In Ogun!.

Case Background and Prosecution
The convicts were apprehended following a violent cult clash at the Ikenne Town Hall on October 23, 2023, which severely disrupted public peace and local activities.
Prosecuting officer ASP Olaide Rawlings established during the trial that Okusanya belonged to the Eiye Confraternity, while Gafar was affiliated with the Alora Confraternity, alongside other accomplices currently at large. Their actions violated several provisions of the Prohibition of Forcible Entry and Occupation of Landed Properties, Armed Robbery, Cultism, Kidnapping and Other Anti-Violent and Related Offences Law of Ogun State, 2016.
Finding the prosecution’s evidence credible and compelling beyond a reasonable doubt, Magistrate Oke delivered the sentence to serve as a strict deterrent against unlawful secret societies and violent disturbances in the state.
