Senator Neda Imansuen, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, emphasized the necessity for the Labour Party to address its internal issues in preparation for the Edo State 2024 election. He acknowledged the Labour Party’s strong position in Edo State and welcomed the Supreme Court’s verdict, which put an end to the Lamidi Apapa-led faction’s disruptive activities within the party.
Imansuen, during the nation’s 63rd Independence anniversary, expressed confidence in the country’s future prosperity and called for collective efforts to overcome the multifaceted challenges facing it.

He stated, “I have been concerned about the Lamidi Apapa issue, but thankfully, the Supreme Court has resolved it, putting it behind us. The Labour Party holds a dominant position in Edo State, attracting numerous aspirants seeking its ticket. Managing this situation effectively will determine our success, and we are quietly working to put our house in order.”
“To those aspiring to run under the Labour Party banner, we emphasize the importance of first building a strong party platform. Many aspirants have consulted me, and I continually stress the need for unity. Transparency will be upheld, and when we rally around a candidate, the Labour Party will be formidable.”
Regarding Nigeria’s 63rd Independence anniversary, Senator Imansuen expressed concerns about the impact of subsidy removal, calling for reflection on the country’s progress and the need for solutions to its challenges. He also emphasized the necessity for mass job creation to address the issue of unemployment among Nigerians.
