The Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which convened in Kaduna, has rejected the preliminary objection presented by Uba Sani concerning the timeliness of the petition submitted by the PDP and its candidate, Isah Mohammed Ashiru.
Sani’s legal team contended that the petitioners’ petition was filed beyond the 21-day timeframe permitted by the law.

The court confirmed that the petition had been filed on April 10, 2023.
Consequently, the three-member panel led by Justice Victor Oviawe dismissed the petition presented by Governor Uba Sani, who is the second respondent in the case.
The tribunal is currently deliberating on another motion submitted by the defendants, which requests the court to dismiss the petition of the PDP and Ashiru on the grounds of abandonment.
