A gender-based Non-Governmental Organization, known as the Girl-child Right and Freedom Protection Centre, has expressed disapproval of Governor Dauda Lawal for embarking on a foreign trip while several female students from Zamfara State University, Gusau, remain in the custody of terrorists.
In a statement released by its chairperson, Lynda Temitope Ajayi, the group highlighted the recent abduction of female students as a distressing issue demanding immediate attention.
Mrs. Ajayi remarked, “The behavior of Zamfara State Governor, who chose to embark on a foreign trip on the day of the unforgettable abduction, is reprehensible and demonstrates a lack of compassion, decorum, sensitivity, humanity, decency, civility, and forgiveness.

She reminded the Zamfara Governor of his position of power and authority, granted to him by the people, with one of his primary responsibilities being the protection and service of the citizens he leads.
In the face of such a grave threat of kidnapping and violence, Mrs. Ajayi expressed disappointment in witnessing a governor displaying indifference and negligence toward his constituents, as was evident in the actions of the Zamfara Governor.
She emphasized that a crisis of this magnitude necessitates leaders to stand resolutely and actively engage in crafting effective strategies to address immediate concerns and prevent future incidents.
Mrs. Ajayi concluded by stating, “It is disheartening to witness leaders shirking their responsibilities and failing to provide the essential support and protection required by their communities.”
