In an interview on WithChude, hosted by Chude Jideonwo, the actor said his father has refused to accept his career in the film industry despite being aware of his success in Nollywood.

Arukwe explained that although his father has heard about his achievements, he has chosen not to recognise or believe them.

He also spoke about his family’s initial reaction to his decision to pursue acting, noting that his mother was initially reluctant to support him due to his father’s influence, but eventually became supportive of his career choice.

According to him, “My father doesn’t know that I’m an actor; he has heard, but he doesn’t want to believe. My mum was slow to adapt because of her husband, but she later came around.”

Meanwhile, Arukwe has reacted to circulating allegations linking him to fellow actress Bamike Olawunmi, popularly known as Bambam, and claims suggesting he was responsible for issues in her marriage to Teddy A.

The controversy gained attention on social media following Arukwe’s appearance in the 2025 YouTube film Love In Every Word, where he starred alongside Bambam.

An X user had alleged that Bambam’s marriage collapsed after she was reportedly found to be pregnant for a colleague from the movie, a claim that quickly went viral online.

In response, Arukwe strongly denied the allegations and issued a warning against those spreading the rumours, stating that he had already identified one of the accounts involved.

He expressed anger over the false claims and vowed to take action against those responsible, insisting that they would be made an example of to discourage misinformation and reputational damage.

He wrote: “A specific account has been identified to spread false rumors and baseless accusations about me and my professional engagement with another colleague in the industry. I choose not to quote the account directly, as I refuse to give such accounts the engagement they seek at the risk of jail time.

“Believe me when I say this: that individual will be made a scapegoat so others learn to respect boundaries and refrain from chasing clout and Elon Musk money at the expense of damaging someone else’s reputation.”
