Some applicants have already confirmed receiving text messages inviting them for interviews.
Clifford Walter, the Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, revealed that out of the 10,000 applicants, only 7,000 were sent interview invitations for positions in the mainstream civil service. He further explained that 2,000 slots were allocated to the state’s primary and post-primary schools board to address the shortage of teachers. Additionally, approximately 450 slots were reserved for the Judicial Service Commission and the Health Management Board to hire judicial officers, doctors, and health professionals.
Walter stated, “The total number of youths to be employed is about 10,000. The governor allocated 1,000 slots to the Primary Schools Board for teacher recruitment, another 1,000 to the Post Primary Schools Board for teachers, 250 to the Judicial Service Commission for legal officers, and approximately 200 to the Health Management Board for health officers and doctors.
“So we are now left with a mainstream number of 7,500. So these are the individuals we will be interviewing during this review period.”
Following the physical verification, successful applicants will receive appointment letters.
The interview process is being conducted in groups of 300 individuals per day, with Accounts officers and Administrative Officers already interviewed, according to our correspondent who has been monitoring the proceedings.
