Edo Crisis: PDP Urges Peace, Issues Caution To Obaseki And Deputy
Edo Crisis: PDP Urges Peace, Issues Caution To Obaseki And Deputy....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called upon Governor Godwin Obaseki of Edo State and his Deputy, Philip Shaibu, to put aside their differences and promote peace.
The party expressed its surprise that official government letters, which are meant to be confidential, are now circulating on social media.
Chief Dan Orbih, the PDP National Vice Chairman (South) and former Edo State party chairman, issued this statement in Abuja on Tuesday night, titled, “Do not de-market PDP in Edo State,” in response to the ongoing feud between Obaseki and Shaibu that appears to be unresolved.

It should be noted that Shaibu had initially gone to the Federal High Court in Abuja to prevent his planned impeachment by Obaseki, but later withdrew the case after stakeholders intervened. However, the conflict resurfaced when the governor relocated the deputy governor’s office and barred Shaibu from entering his Government House office.
Orbih advised Obaseki and his deputy to set aside their differences and prioritize peace, particularly in light of the upcoming gubernatorial election next year.
He stated, “I have observed with concern the strained relationship between Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, and his Deputy, Comrade Philip Shaibu, and I urge both parties to exercise restraint in their words and actions during this ongoing and unnecessary crisis.
“I am surprised to see official letters that should remain confidential circulating on social media. I implore both parties to cease hostilities and resolve their disputes quietly for the sake of good governance and the progress of the state. Anything less could tarnish the image and prospects of the Party in the upcoming Guber election.
“While we have had disagreements between the party and the government in the past, we have not allowed them to become the subject of newspaper editorials.
“The PDP is a strong brand in Edo State, a brand that has been nurtured over the years by the commitment of leaders and dedicated party members. This brand is now under serious threat due to the ongoing conflict between the Governor and Deputy-Governor.
“I take this opportunity to call on both parties to ‘cease fire’ and resolve their differences amicably. God bless PDP. God bless Edo State.”
