The youths prevented the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, from entering the community due to his failure to address community issues as a lawmaker over the years.

It took the senatorial candidate, Ned Nwoko, hours of effort to calm the nerves of unrepentant youths.

The youths who reluctantly listened to Nwoko lamented the community’s difficulties over the years.

“The PDP has been coming here to campaign since 1999, but after the elections, they never remember the Oko community.”

The youths, on the other hand, forced Elumelu and others to take an oath at the community shrine that if elected, they will address the community’s plight, particularly the roads.
