Momoh expressed appreciation for Jonathan’s wisdom and generosity in sharing his expertise during the meeting, recognizing the former President’s dedication to the betterment of Nigeria, particularly in the Niger Delta.

Furthermore, the minister commended Jonathan for his support and mentorship in addressing critical challenges and advancing the nation’s development.

In his meeting with Asari Dokubo, a former Niger Delta agitator, Dokubo pledged his commitment to support the minister in his role. He acknowledged Momoh’s dedication to addressing the region’s infrastructural deficiencies.

Dokubo urged fellow Niger Deltans to rally behind the minister to ensure successful delivery and to thwart any efforts by adversaries to obstruct the ministry’s development agenda under Momoh’s leadership.

Additionally, he called upon President Bola Tinubu to take action in recovering an alleged N600 billion, originally allocated to the Ministry of Niger Delta Development, which had been redirected to projects unrelated to the region by the former Attorney General of the Federation, Mallam Abubakar Mallami, without the knowledge of former President Muhammadu Buhari. Dokubo pointed out that these funds were inappropriately utilized for projects like the Second Niger Bridge and the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which had no direct connection to the Niger Delta.
