Tear Gas Won’t Stop Us: Sowore Vows to Continue #FreeNnamdiKanu Protests.
According to Nivo News, Nigerian activist and former presidential candidate, Omoyele Sowore, has cautioned that the ongoing #FreeNnamdiKanuNow protest could spiral out of control if the Federal Government fails to release the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Speaking to journalists during the protest in Abuja, Sowore revealed that despite being repeatedly tear-gassed by security agents at various protest locations—including Transcorp, Utako, and Apo—demonstrators have remained resolute in their demand for justice.
He emphasized that the movement was not a call for violence but a demand for fairness and recognition of citizens’ rights, asserting that Nigerians deserve to be treated with dignity within their own country.
Sowore stated, “Nobody can stop this spirit that has been awakened. We are only insisting on bringing our brother home. They tear-gassed us at Transcorp, we moved to Utako; they did the same, and we relocated to Apo, where we had the largest turnout so far. This shows that very soon, things may get out of hand if they fail to act on Nnamdi Kanu’s release.”
The activist further explained that their message was clear—citizens deserve to be treated equally and fairly. “We are not calling for violence,” he added, “but if Nigerians are not allowed to enjoy full citizenship, then those who wish to go their separate ways should be allowed to do so.”
Nnamdi Kanu has been in detention on allegations of terrorism, treason, and incitement. The government claims he has been promoting the Biafran cause through inflammatory broadcasts and online statements.

In a recent interview on the WithChude podcast, the actor recounted how the incident transformed his faith and brought him into a deeper relationship with God. He revealed that the accident happened shortly after parting ways with his close friend and colleague, Gregory Ojefua, in Lagos.
Udegbe recalled their final conversation before the crash, explaining that Ojefua mentioned heading toward the Eko Bridge while he decided to take the Third Mainland Bridge. That, he said, was the last thing he remembered before waking up in a hospital bed.
“That accident was crazy. I was with Gregory Ojefua, my guy. We just finished where we were. I asked him where he was going, and he said Eko Bridge. I said I was going through Third Mainland. And that was it,” he recounted.
The actor said he regained consciousness in the hospital, confused and unaware of what had happened. “The next thing I remember was waking up in the hospital. I saw a bandage around my neck, and I couldn’t turn it. I was told to calm down,” he narrated.
Udegbe explained that he suffered a severe neck injury, known as whiplash, which made movement extremely painful. He underwent therapy to recover and recalled a profound moment when his doctor told him, “Go and sin no more.” According to him, it felt as though Jesus Christ was speaking directly to him.
Reflecting on the experience, Udegbe said the ordeal strengthened his Christian faith. “Before the accident, I was a believer who prayed and trusted God. But since then, my faith and conversations with God have reached a whole new level,” he said.
