Oyo State Governor Approves Recruitment Of 338 Traffic Managers

The announcement came as Major Adesagba Adekoya (retd), the Chairman of OYRTMA, disclosed during the screening exercise at the authority’s operational headquarters in Sanyo, Ibadan, that a total of 2,450 applications were received from eligible candidates.
Adekoya emphasized that the screening exercise reflected Governor Makinde’s commitment to responsive governance, deeming the approval necessary to bolster OYRTMA’s workforce.
He clarified that the approval aligned with a revalidated policy signed in 2021, indicating the state government’s dedication to improving road traffic management.
Candidates from various regions across Oyo State, including Ogbomoso, Ibarapa, Oke-Ogun, Oyo town, and Ibadan, participated in the screening process for the available positions within OYRTMA.
Adekoya outlined the screening stages, which included registration, accreditation, physical tests, and medical assessments. He assured that qualified applicants would progress through subsequent stages, leading to interviews conducted by the Civil Service Commission and the Ministry of Establishment and Training.
The Chairman of the Civil Service Commission, represented by the Senior Administrative Officer on Recruitment, Adelowo Oladapo, expressed appreciation for the opportunity provided by the state government to address unemployment.
Similarly, Olusola Ojelabi, the Director of Recruitment and Service Matters at the Ministry of Establishment and Training, lauded the recruitment exercise as a proactive measure toward enhancing road traffic enforcement, rules, and regulations.
Governor Makinde’s approval signifies a significant step towards bolstering Oyo State’s road traffic management infrastructure and improving road safety across the state.
