2027: ‘That Was So Arrogant’ – Okorocha Slams Uzodinma Over Conduct Before Tinubu

Former lawmaker representing Imo West Senatorial District, Rochas Okorocha, has criticised Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, describing his conduct before President Bola Tinubu as arrogant during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council (PCC).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Okorocha made the remarks while appearing on Channels Television’s Politics Today, where he faulted Uzodinma for declaring that he would be on the ballot in the 2027 election during the party’s campaign council inauguration.

According to the former governor, Uzodinma’s statement was inappropriate, particularly because the dispute over the APC senatorial ticket was still before the court.

He said: “The day of our inauguration for the PCC, Hope Uzodinma, before the President, announced that, ‘I will be on the ballot.’ That was so arrogant of anybody to say what is in court. You have already decided that you are going to win.

“When the matter is in court, you must allow the court to take a decision. You are not the court, so you can’t arrogate to yourself the power of knowing what’s going to happen.”

The development comes after the Federal High Court in Abuja declared Okorocha the winner of the APC primary for the Imo West Senatorial District seat ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Justice Obiora Egwuatu had ordered Uzodinma to stop presenting himself as the party’s candidate, ruling that he did not win the senatorial primary conducted on May 18 and monitored by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The judge held that evidence presented before the court showed that Okorocha secured the majority of votes cast during the exercise.

The announcement comes weeks after the 42-year-old actress was reportedly assaulted by her husband and subsequently hospitalised following the incident.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The fashion personality later confirmed the alleged assault, disclosing that the police were investigating the matter.

The Ghana Police Service also revealed that her husband, Norman, had not been arraigned over the alleged domestic violence case because his hospitalisation delayed the process.

On Friday, October 30, Addo made her first public appearance since the incident as she walked the runway at Lagos Fashion Week.

The German-born Ghanaian actress and model featured in a show by fashion designer Sevonda Jana, where she closed the presentation in a wedding gown.

She later explained that the outfit carried a personal message, symbolising the end of a chapter in her marriage and the beginning of a new phase in her life.

In a post on Instagram, the mother of two wrote:

“Last night, I walked into my moment and gave the runway a finale to remember. I closed the show in a wedding gown, just as I closed a chapter in my own story.

“Perhaps there is something beautiful about endings, new beginnings and the courage to embrace both. Closing @sevondejana at Lagos Fashion Week 2026 was more than a walk for me. That statement truly had to be made. Some chapters end, but the woman always remains the story.”

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that about 20 thugs attacked him and threatened to kill him during a visit to Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital, on Friday.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Sowore claimed the attackers invaded a restaurant where he was meeting with some supporters and assaulted him with sticks and bottles.

The activist disclosed details of the incident during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today.

According to him, the attack occurred in broad daylight, leaving him with injuries to his face and other parts of his body. He was subsequently taken to a hospital for treatment.

“They beat me like a criminal. They came from nowhere, about 20 of them, armed with sticks and bottles. They said they will kill me if I come to Ekiti again,” Sowore said.

The AAC chieftain further claimed that the incident was captured by CCTV cameras installed at the restaurant.

However, he accused the police and the Department of State Services (DSS) of taking possession of the footage in an alleged attempt to conceal evidence of the attack.

Sowore also accused the Ekiti State Government of sponsoring the assault to intimidate him and silence opposition voices in the state.

The state government had yet to respond to the allegation as of the time of filing this report.

Despite the incident, the former presidential candidate insisted that the attack would not discourage him from speaking out against injustice or continuing his political activities.

“I am not afraid. They can beat me, they can arrest me, but they cannot stop me from speaking the truth,” he added.

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has vowed that kidnappers will have no hiding place under his administration, declaring that he would personally enter the bush to rescue abducted citizens if elected.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Obi made the pledge while addressing supporters at the party’s campaign rally in Bayelsa State.

The former Anambra State governor said his administration would not tolerate abductions, particularly the kidnapping of schoolchildren.

“If anybody takes schoolchildren, if anybody kidnaps anybody, I will go into the bush. We will go into that bush and rescue the person. Nobody will try that in our government,” he declared.

Obi also promised to unite the country and make Nigeria safe for residents, assuring citizens that they would be able to travel freely without fear of attacks.

“We will make Nigeria work. We will make Nigeria a place where people will live. We will secure Nigeria. Nobody will live in Nigeria where you can’t travel on the road again,” he said.

To emphasise the importance of road safety, the NDC flagbearer recounted his recent journeys across several states.

He said he travelled from Enugu to Bayelsa on the day of the rally, adding that he had also visited Lokoja on Tuesday, Akwanga on Wednesday and Ebonyi on Thursday.

According to him, securing the country’s highways must be a priority.

“Our roads must be secured,” he stressed.

Obi also criticised President Bola Tinubu over reports that he would not visit Bayelsa to campaign, describing the state as significant to Nigeria’s oil industry.

“This is a state where Nigeria discovered oil. This is a state where we get money we share, and the President said he will not come here to campaign,” he said.

The former governor further took a swipe at Tinubu over his frequent foreign trips, claiming that the President had spent more than 200 days outside the country.

“He will not come to Bayelsa for one day, and he wants you to vote for him,” Obi added.

On corruption, the NDC presidential candidate promised to tackle the menace and ensure that public funds were used for the benefit of Nigerians.

“They say if you fight corruption, corruption will fight you back. And I’m telling you,
