Kano 2027: Political Drama As Gwarzo’s Name Goes Missing From INEC’s Final List.
Aminu Gwarzo, identified as the National Democratic Congress (NDC) governorship candidate in Kano State, has been left out of the final list of candidates published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 governorship election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The three-page document, signed by INEC Secretary Rose Oriaran-Anthony, contains the names of 17 governorship candidates and their running mates. However, neither the NDC nor Gwarzo appears on the list.
Among the candidates included in the document are Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Abacha Muhammed Sani of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Labour Party (LP) and Social Democratic Party (SDP) also have candidates on the list.
Other political parties represented include the Action Alliance (AA), African Action Congress (AAC), Action Democratic Party (ADP), All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), Allied Peoples Movement (APM) and New Democratic Party (NDP).
Despite the inclusion of candidates from several political parties, Gwarzo’s name and the NDC governorship ticket are missing from the final document.
The list provides details of the candidates and their running mates, including their names, party affiliations, ages, genders and educational qualifications.
INEC did not state in the document why the NDC and Gwarzo were excluded from the published list.
INEC Also Removes Pantami From Gombe Governorship List
In a related development, INEC has removed the name of former Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Professor Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, from the final list of governorship candidates for the February 6, 2027, election in Gombe State.
Naija News reports that the commission published a final list containing 16 cleared candidates, with Pantami missing despite his inclusion in the provisional list released on August 29.
The final list for Gombe State includes Bala Bello Tinka of the ADC, Jamilu Isyaku Gwamna of the APC and Babayo Ardo Kumo of the NDC.
Other candidates cleared by INEC include Zubairu Mu’azu Halilu of the Labour Party, Lamela L. Silas of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Ibrahim Jalo Abubakar of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP) and Adamu Mohammed Ma’aji of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), among others.

‘He Won’t Stop Taking Tough Decisions’ – Remi Tinubu Defends President’s Leadership.
Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has assured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s administration will usher in greater prosperity if he secures re-election in the 2027 presidential election.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to reports, she gave the assurance on Saturday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, during a grand rally organised by the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network to garner support for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
In a statement issued by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady said the President’s Independence Day address on October 1 outlined his administration’s ambition to transition from economic reforms to greater prosperity.
She explained that the government was now focused on ensuring that the reforms introduced by the President translated into improved economic conditions and better living standards for Nigerians.
Oluremi maintained that the economy was beginning to show signs of stabilisation, citing developments in the foreign exchange market and reports of investors returning to the country.
She also commended state governors for their efforts in infrastructure development and the promotion of agricultural activities across their respective states.
The statement quoted her as saying: “The Independence Day message of Mr President was titled ‘From Reforms to Prosperity.’ Therefore, Mr President is saying that they are going to reform the sector, but now is the time for prosperity, and we can see our economy is stabilising. Foreign exchange is going down, and investors are coming back to Nigeria. Our farmers too, you can see all our governors here, they are doing infrastructural development like no other time before. As you see now, we have just finished the food bank programme, where we are helping every child and mothers who are pregnant and also breastfeeding.
“This is to ensure that they can have more nutritious food, and also the children that are malnourished can get treatment and also get food to grow healthy. As we all go back to our various states, tell everyone that Mr President Bola Tinubu is a leader who is very bold. He will not stop by being at home to take difficult decisions.
“He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity. Build a stronger economy, safer communities and a greater Nigeria. Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of the APC from top to bottom.”

‘When Anarchy Comes, Nobody Is Spared’ – Peter Obi Reacts To Attack On NDC Supporters
The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, has condemned the attack on the party’s supporters in Enugu State, warning that political violence could have dangerous consequences for everyone.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Obi expressed outrage over the incident in a post on X, cautioning those responsible against actions that could trigger disorder and endanger human lives.
The former Anambra State governor warned that once anarchy takes hold, no one is immune to its consequences, regardless of their political affiliation or position in society.
He also disclosed that some of his scheduled engagements across different states had been cancelled after individuals who invited him reportedly received threats.
Obi expressed concern over the rising tension surrounding political activities and urged against allowing violence to become a feature of Nigeria’s political process.
He wrote: “The unfortunate incident that happened today in Enugu State, where NDC supporters were attacked by political thugs, has reportedly claimed one life.
“Those in government should know that when anarchy comes, it consumes everybody.”
His comments followed an incident at Akanu Ibiam International Airport in Enugu on Saturday, where suspected political thugs reportedly attacked NDC supporters.
The party members had gathered at the airport to welcome the party’s governorship candidate, Chinyeaka Ohaa, when the attack occurred.
