‘He Would Never Consider It’ – NDC Dismisses Claims Of Dickson Supporting Tinubu.
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has dismissed reports alleging that its national leader, Seriake Dickson, is collaborating with President Bola Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) against his own party ahead of the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The party insisted that it remained united, stressing that there was no division among its leaders as preparations for the forthcoming elections continued.
According to Naija News, the NDC National Chairman, Senator Moses Cleopas, made the clarification on Saturday during a press briefing at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja.
Cleopas addressed concerns raised by reports suggesting that the party had become inactive or was facing internal challenges ahead of the 2027 polls.
He disclosed that the party leadership had received several inquiries from members, supporters and other Nigerians seeking clarification about developments within the NDC and its political direction.
The chairman maintained that the National Working Committee (NWC), National Executive Committee (NEC), national leader and other party structures remained committed to the party and its candidates.
Cleopas also firmly rejected claims that Dickson was considering supporting Tinubu and the APC, questioning why the former Bayelsa State governor would go through the demanding and expensive process of establishing and registering a new political party if he intended to align with the ruling party.
He said, “Dickson would never consider supporting Tinubu and the APC. Why would the NDC national leader undertake the complicated and costly process of establishing and registering a new political party when joining the APC would have been a simpler and more financially advantageous option?”

According to reports, she gave the assurance on Saturday in Lafia, Nasarawa State, during a grand rally organised by the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network to garner support for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
In a statement issued by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the First Lady said the President’s Independence Day address on October 1 outlined his administration’s ambition to transition from economic reforms to greater prosperity.
She explained that the government was now focused on ensuring that the reforms introduced by the President translated into improved economic conditions and better living standards for Nigerians.
Oluremi maintained that the economy was beginning to show signs of stabilisation, citing developments in the foreign exchange market and reports of investors returning to the country.
She also commended state governors for their efforts in infrastructure development and the promotion of agricultural activities across their respective states.
The statement quoted her as saying: “The Independence Day message of Mr President was titled ‘From Reforms to Prosperity.’ Therefore, Mr President is saying that they are going to reform the sector, but now is the time for prosperity, and we can see our economy is stabilising. Foreign exchange is going down, and investors are coming back to Nigeria. Our farmers too, you can see all our governors here, they are doing infrastructural development like no other time before. As you see now, we have just finished the food bank programme, where we are helping every child and mothers who are pregnant and also breastfeeding.
“This is to ensure that they can have more nutritious food, and also the children that are malnourished can get treatment and also get food to grow healthy. As we all go back to our various states, tell everyone that Mr President Bola Tinubu is a leader who is very bold. He will not stop by being at home to take difficult decisions.
“He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity. Build a stronger economy, safer communities and a greater Nigeria. Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of the APC from top to bottom.”
