‘Wike Stood Tall When It Mattered Most’ – Labour Party Backs Rainbow Coalition.
The Rivers State chapter of the Labour Party (LP) has declared its support for the “Rainbow Coalition” being championed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The state LP chairman, Fredrick Nwoje, made the position known in a statement issued on Wednesday, describing Wike as a political colossus who “stood tall when it mattered most.”
Nwoje said Wike had demonstrated that the interests of Rivers State transcend political party affiliations, describing him as one of Nigeria’s most strategic and effective political leaders.
According to the LP chairman, Wike’s Rainbow Coalition represents an inclusive approach to politics by bringing together politicians from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), Labour Party and other political parties.
Nwoje also criticised the APC Governors Forum over its recent position on the coalition, describing the stance as a reflection of “panic, envy and political laziness.”
The statement read in part:
“Chief Wike is a political colossus, a man of history. While lesser men went to sleep and hid in fear, he stood tall when it mattered most.
“His decision to publicly campaign for another political party, particularly President Bola Tinubu, while delivering massive infrastructural development in the FCT, shows that Wike is a man of courage, integrity and political conviction.
“What Chief Wike has demonstrated with his rainbow coalition is that governance is bigger than party.
“While others preach unity, he practices it. While others play politics of exclusion and winner-takes-all, Wike has opened his doors to competent Rivers’ men and women regardless of party affiliation.
“This is all-inclusive politics at its best. No one is left behind. That is leadership.”

Other transactions listed were ₦15,124,950 paid to Urico Global Services in April 2024 and ₦15 million paid to Christopher Azogu in June 2024.
Count one alleged that ALSCON and Dmitry failed to report a transfer of ₦147,515,050 paid to UDATSON Nigeria from an account operated by the company in March 2024.
Count two contained a similar allegation concerning the transfer of ₦156,026,860 to UDATSON Nigeria in April 2024.

The EFCC accused the defendants of offences punishable under Sections 11(3), 19(2)(b) and 22 of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022.
The commission’s lead counsel, Ekele Iheanacho, SAN, informed the court that the alleged offences were covered by the provisions cited in the charge.
When the charges were read, ALSCON’s Acting Managing Director, Ime Monday Inyang, entered a not-guilty plea on behalf of the company on all six counts.
The company’s lawyer subsequently urged the court to quash the charges, maintaining that ALSCON was innocent of the allegations.
After hearing the parties, Justice Egwuatu adjourned the case until January 27, 2027, for the commencement of trial.
