Key Operational Achievements Under Outgoing Leadership

  • Resettlement and Reintegration: Over 7,000 displaced families successfully returned to their ancestral homes, with previously abandoned communities reoccupied across all Borno State Local Government Areas.

  • Repatriation and Normalcy: Facilitated the voluntary and safe repatriation of over 3,000 Nigerians from Cameroon, the resumption of the NYSC Orientation Scheme in Maiduguri after more than 13 years, and the reopening of key trade routes and local markets, alongside WAEC and NECO examinations in Banki and Gwoza.

  • Neutralization of Insurgents: Troops neutralized over 1,106 JAS/ISWAP terrorists—including high-profile commanders—while recovering more than 475 weapons, 24,409 rounds of ammunition, and discovering and detonating at least 295 Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs).

  • Financial and Logistics Interdiction: Intercepted over ₦300 million tied to terrorist financiers and apprehended at least 758 logistics collaborators.

  • Surrender and Rescue Operations: Combined kinetic and non-kinetic strategies led to the surrender of 969 JAS/ISWAP fighters and family members, alongside the rescue of 638 civilians from terrorist enclaves over the past year.

  • Military Enhancements: Strengthened operational capacity through the operationalization of Sector 4, the introduction of Nigerian Army Aviation helicopters and Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems, and upgrades to the Military Command and Control Centre for improved frontline surveillance.
