According to an official release signed by the Board’s Secretary, Maj.-Gen. A. M. Jibril (rtd.), the screening and shortlisting following the physical and medical evaluations for the Nigerian Correctional Service, Nigerian Immigration Service, Federal Fire Service, and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps have concluded.

Applicants are required to log into the official recruitment portal at recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng based on their academic qualifications:

• Graduate Applicants: August 31 to September 2

• NCE, OND, and SSCE Applicants: September 7 to September 9

Abioye Kamarudeen Adesina, the State Controller of Corrections, addressed attendees at the graduation event, noting that the initiative was put together through a collaboration between the Centre for Legal Support and Inmate Rehabilitation (CELSIR) and the Kastenbeelo Computer Training Institute.

According to Adesina, digital literacy will significantly enhance the participants’ prospects of securing a livelihood and achieving self-sufficiency upon re-entering society. He emphasized that rehabilitation is a foundational duty of the Correctional Service, asserting that individuals in custody must receive avenues to construct better futures. Furthermore, the Controller appealed for greater backing from non-governmental organizations, private entities, and other community partners to bolster these reintegration frameworks by supplying essential gear, instructional tools, and resources.

Addressing the newly graduated inmates directly, Adesina advised them to apply their newly gained expertise productively and maintain discipline to steer clear of behavior that might lead back to incarceration.
