    • During Monday’s plenary session—overseen by Deputy Speaker Osamwonye Atu—it was noted that Agbebaku’s resignation notice had not been formally documented, prompting the House to proceed with an official impeachment backed by 17 members.

    • The motion for the formal impeachment was moved by the Majority Leader, Sunny Ojiezele, and seconded by Ahmed Waziri, representing Etsako Central constituency.

    • Alongside the leadership change, the Assembly shook up its principal officers, removing Jonathan Ibhamawu as Majority Leader and Addeh Emankhu Isibor as Deputy Majority Leader.

    • Consequently, Ojiezele Osezua Sunday stepped in as the new Majority Leader, while Inegbeboh Ojie Eugene took over as Deputy Majority Leader.
