New documentation has surfaced that appears to contradict the Presidency’s long-standing position regarding the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC). According to these documents, Nadungu Gagare, the Permanent Secretary of the Political and Economic Affairs Office within the SGF’s office, formally approved Adeyemi to join the Nigerian delegation for the Canada-Africa Fintech Summit held from August 3 to 8, 2025. The letter, signed by Gagare on behalf of the SGF, explicitly invited Adeyemi to participate as part of the country’s economic strategy, requesting that he help register and coordinate other stakeholders for the event.

The correspondence emphasized the summit’s potential to advance Nigeria’s economic vision, foster bilateral trade, and attract foreign direct investment, while also directing Adeyemi to liaise with the SGF’s office for further details. This revelation has intensified the ongoing scrutiny surrounding the PFIPC and has reignited public calls for the Department of State Services (DSS), the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to investigate potential complicity among government officials. Furthermore, the document adds another layer of complexity to the existing dispute involving Adeyemi and the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila.
