• On May 15, gunmen attacked three schools in Oriire LGA, abducting 46 individuals, including one school principal.

• One of the teachers, Michael Oyedokun, was killed while in captivity.

• Shaibu confirmed that active military operations are underway to secure the remaining hostages.

National Security Operations

• Military troops are actively engaged in operations across all six geopolitical zones to address insecurity.

• Under Operation Hadin Kai in the North-East, troops have neutralized over 1,872 insurgents, and many terrorists have surrendered.

• Due to improved security, many displaced persons have been able to return home, leading to the closure of the internally displaced persons’ camp in Bama, Borno State.
