A suit filed to disqualify the Senator representing the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Ireti Kingibe, from participating in activities of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been struck out by the court.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

News reports that the Federal High Court in Abuja on Friday dismissed the case marked FHC/ABJ/CV/539/2026.

Delivering judgment, Justice Peter Lifu also refused to grant an order stopping the senator from presenting herself as a member of the ADC, following claims that she was suspended over alleged anti-party activities.

The court further awarded ₦20 million in costs in favour of Kingibe.

The suit was filed by two ADC members, Okezuo Godfrey Anayo and Isaiah Ojonugwa Samuel, who claimed to represent the party’s Ward Executive Committee in the FCT.

They alleged that Senator Kingibe was suspended on March 10 by the Wuse Ward over offences including insubordination, and that the decision was later ratified by a two-thirds majority of the ward executive committee.

According to them, the suspension was communicated to the senator and relevant party organs, but she allegedly continued to present herself as a member of the party despite the action taken against her.

The plaintiffs asked the court to affirm the validity of the suspension and restrain her from parading herself as an ADC member while the disciplinary process was ongoing.

They also sought declarations preventing the party’s National Working Committee from recognising her as a member during the alleged suspension period.

However, Justice Lifu ruled that the matter was an internal party dispute and therefore outside the jurisdiction of the court.

He consequently struck out the suit and awarded costs of ₦20 million against the plaintiffs.

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has officially rejoined the South African Premiership club, Chippa United, five months after a mutual agreement to terminate his contract in February.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Personal Loss: Nwabali’s representative, Mohammed Lawal, revealed that the goalkeeper’s exit was driven by the tragic loss of three close family members in a short span: his grandmother, his father (Godspower Nwabali), and his mother (Grace Nwabali).

  • Mental Well-being: Nwabali felt the need to prioritize his happiness and emotional stability over his career during this period of grief.

  • Maintaining Privacy: At the time, Nwabali chose not to publicly disclose his struggle with mental health, preferring to handle the situation privately.

  • Internal Struggles: Lawal noted that the emotional burden led to changes in Nwabali’s demeanor during international matches, which some had misinterpreted as uncharacteristic aggression.

Clarification on Transfer Rumors

  • No Disagreements: The agent refuted claims that the departure was caused by a falling out with the club, a desire to leave for a bigger team, or failed transfer negotiations.

  • Declined Offers: During his time away, Nwabali received interest from clubs in England, Saudi Arabia, and other African nations but chose not to pursue these opportunities because he was not yet ready to return to professional football.

Return to Chippa United

  • Support System: Nwabali’s return was facilitated by the cordial relationship he maintained with the club’s chairman, Siviwe Mpengesi, who supported his need for time away.

  • Familiar Environment: Returning to Chippa United was viewed as the best path for his recovery because the club understands him both as a player and as a person, allowing him to restart in a familiar environment rather than starting over at a new club.

  • Professional Support: Throughout his break, Nwabali stayed in contact with Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, who provided the necessary support and space for the goalkeeper to heal.

Nwabali, who gained significant recognition during Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, is now focused on regaining his top form at his former club.
