Speaking in a video message to a group, the former Abia State governor stressed that only both of them fully understand the origin and direction of their disagreement, insisting that no third party should act as a judge in the matter.

He also called for unity within the party and urged that internal processes, especially elections, be conducted transparently.

According to him, “Let today be a turning point for all of us, unity must prevail in the party. I don’t want anybody to be a judge between the Deputy Speaker and me.

“We know how we started, and only both of us know how we will end. The president asked me a question about him, I’m saying it openly, I answered in his favour and good.

“The president is alive, and I will tell him in secret what we discussed, so if my brother is running for governor, he is running on his name as my brother.

“Let there be a transparent election; whoever wins, we will support; if you don’t want us to support, we will go to our houses and sit down.”
