The committee, chaired by Hon. Peter Eze, made this known during an interactive meeting with the Surveyors Council of Nigeria (SURCON) and the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT), held at the FCC headquarters in Abuja.

The engagement was part of the committee’s oversight responsibilities aimed at evaluating compliance with the Federal Character Principle across government ministries, departments, and agencies.

Speaking at the session, Hon. Eze said the committee remains committed to promoting transparency, accountability, and equitable representation in all federal institutions.

He explained that the meeting was necessary to reinforce adherence to constitutional provisions guiding federal character, particularly in areas such as recruitment, appointments, staff development, and allocation of opportunities.

He also emphasized the need for stronger collaboration between the FCC and regulatory bodies to enhance national unity and fairness in public administration.

The SURCON delegation was led by Surveyor-General and Registrar, Surveyor Olugbemiro Kunle, while Dr. Bayero Salih Farah led the NITT team.

Discussions at the meeting focused on institutional efficiency, compliance frameworks, inter-agency cooperation, and improving communication between government agencies.

Both SURCON and NITT reaffirmed their commitment to professionalism, accountability, and full compliance with regulations governing public service operations.

The committee noted that stronger oversight and collaboration among institutions are essential for effective service delivery and the proper implementation of federal character principles across all sectors.

Members of the committee present included Hon. Halima Ahmadu Jabiru, Hon. Eludayo Eluyemi, Rt. Hon. Victor Sabor Edoror, Hon. Engr. Modu Mustapha, and Hon. Sani General Garba.
