President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of Ms. Adedayo Benjamin Laniyi as the Director-General and Chief Executive Officer of the Maryam Babangida National Centre for Women Development (MBNCWD).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The President also approved the constitution of the Centre’s Governing Council, with members appointed for an initial term of four years.

The announcement was contained in a statement issued on Thursday night by the Head of Information and Public Relations at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Chris Ugwuegbulam.

According to a letter signed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, and released by the Permanent Secretary of the General Services Office, Dr. Ibrahim Abubakar Kana, the appointments take effect from April 18, 2026, in line with Section 7(1) and (3) of the National Centre for Women Development (Amendment) Act, 2023.

Tinubu also approved the members of the new Governing Council of the Centre, with Princess Joan Jummai Idonije named as Chairman.

Other appointed members include Ms. Lois Auta, Hon. Jamila Sarki, Aisha Baiyee, Hon. Jumoke Okoya-Thomas, and Hon. Princess Anne Agom-Eze.

The President congratulated the newly appointed Director-General and Council members, wishing them success in their respective roles.
