He made this known during an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday.

Oshiomhole explained that it would be inappropriate to discuss higher political positions when he has not yet secured a fresh mandate to return to the Senate.

According to him, his current tenure will end around June 12 or 13, and he is presently focused on securing re-election rather than pursuing leadership roles in the Senate.

“When? Have I been elected yet? My parents told me that you don’t pray for a child to have a baby boy until he first gets married,” he said.

He noted that he has already applied for a renewed mandate to represent Edo North and urged that due process be respected.

“My current tenure will end at the end of this session. I have applied for renewal, and I can’t take the people of Edo North for granted. I pray they renew that mandate for me,” he added.

Oshiomhole further stated that he has already been screened and is preparing for the party primaries scheduled for Monday.

He added that only after securing the ticket and winning the general election, expected in January, can any further political discussions be considered.

He stressed that ambition must follow due process, warning against premature political speculation.

“At this point, I am focused on renewing my mandate. I will not join in playing God,” he said.
