Prominent political figures, including former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi and former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, were also present at the meeting alongside other party leaders.

Speaking on behalf of the caucus, Ogene reaffirmed the lawmakers’ commitment to the party’s principles and their role in strengthening opposition politics.

He said the lawmakers were dedicated to serving Nigerians in line with the party’s motto of “service to the people,” stressing their resolve to ensure effective governance.

According to him, the caucus would continue to demand accountability from the government to ensure Nigerians enjoy the basic dividends of democracy.

Ogene also described the NDC as the leading opposition force in the House of Representatives, noting that its growing membership would enhance its influence both nationally and internationally.

He expressed confidence that the party’s expanding presence in parliament would amplify its voice and strengthen its oversight role.

He further assured party leaders of their continued loyalty to both the party and the Nigerian people.

In his response, Kwankwaso commended the lawmakers for their loyalty, describing it as a rare attribute in the country’s political landscape.

He assured them of continued collaboration and support from the party leadership to ensure collective success.

Kwankwaso also used the opportunity to call on Nigerians to join the NDC and participate actively in the electoral process ahead of 2027 by obtaining their voter cards.

He urged party members to intensify grassroots mobilisation efforts, particularly among young people and supporters of political change across the country.
