Jonathan Back To Aso Rock? PDP Faction’s Secret Meeting Sparks Fresh 2027 Buzz.

The factional national leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led by Tanimu Turaki on Friday met with former President Goodluck Jonathan in what appeared to be a strategic engagement.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The meeting took place less than 48 hours after Jonathan revealed that he was holding extensive consultations over a possible bid for the 2027 presidential election.

Jonathan had made the disclosure on Thursday when a delegation of Nigerians visited him at his Abuja office, urging him to enter the presidential contest.

Responding to the appeal, the former president stressed that seeking the nation’s highest office was a weighty decision that could not be taken lightly without broad consultations.

“You are asking me to come and contest the next election. The presidential race is not a computer game. But I’ve heard you, and I’ll consult widely,” he said.

At the same time, Jonathan is facing a legal challenge at the Federal High Court in Abuja aimed at preventing him from joining the 2027 presidential race.

The suit, filed by lawyer Johnmary Jideobi, is seeking a declaration that Jonathan is constitutionally barred from contesting for the presidency again.

On April 28, Justice Peter Lifu directed that hearing notices be issued and served on all defendants in the case.

Jideobi is also asking the court to stop Jonathan from presenting himself to any political party as a candidate for the 2027 presidential election.
