Musa Muhammad Kamarawa, a former Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to ex-Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawalle, has alleged that Abubakar Idris, popularly known as Dadiyata, was killed in his presence.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

reports that a screengrab of Kamarawa’s claim, written in Hausa, is currently circulating widely on social media platforms.

Kamarawa also reportedly submitted a petition on Thursday to the Inspector General of Police, alleging that some police officers had threatened his life.

Dadiyata, a Nigerian lecturer and vocal government critic, was abducted from his home in Kaduna on August 1, 2019, and has remained missing since then. His disappearance has long been linked to his outspoken criticism of government policies, particularly in northern Nigeria.

Political commentator Imran Wakili, who shared the allegation on X, described Kamarawa’s claim as a critical development that could help unravel the mystery surrounding Dadiyata’s disappearance.

He said the statement should not be dismissed, insisting it requires a thorough, transparent, and independent investigation.

Similarly, security analyst and counter-insurgency journalist in the North-West, Bakatsine, also reacted to the allegation, calling for a full and open investigation.

In a post on Friday, he said the claim involves serious accusations of enforced disappearance and possible extrajudicial killing, adding that anyone found responsible must be brought to justice.

Meanwhile, Kamarawa had earlier accused two senior police officers, CSP Hussaini Gimba and CSP Hassan Gimba, of alleged extortion, unlawful search of his residence, seizure of property, and what he described as a biased investigation.

In his petition to the Inspector General of Police, he alleged that the officers pressured him to hide details of his association with the current Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, during interrogation.

He further claimed that during questioning, he was threatened and forced to sign statements under duress, adding that he was warned against disclosing certain information.

Kamarawa also alleged that the officers repeatedly questioned him about his ties to former Sokoto State Governor, Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, whom he described as their alleged target.

He insisted that his petition includes supporting documents, including his appointment letter as SSA, and called for an investigation into the conduct and motives of the officers involved.
