Shock As Thugs Attack Ondo NULGE Chairman In Violent Assault.

The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State, Comrade Adetunji Adene, has reportedly been attacked at his residence by about 20 suspected thugs.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to reports, the incident occurred shortly after he returned from official duties in Akure, when the assailants allegedly stormed his home with the intention of harming him.

Residents said the attack was disrupted when family members and neighbours raised an alarm, forcing the attackers to flee before carrying out their alleged plan.

Adene sustained serious injuries during the assault and was quickly taken to the Federal Medical Centre, Owo, where he is currently receiving medical attention.

Reacting to the incident, the state NULGE chairman, Comrade Fredrick Akinrinlola, strongly condemned the attack, describing it as an assault not only on the victim but on the entire union and the local government system.

He expressed concern over what he called a rising pattern of violence targeting union leaders and workers in Owo Local Government Area, warning that it raises serious safety concerns.

Akinrinlola said, “I stand before you this Monday, May 4, 2026, to sound the alarm loud and clear. A vicious wave of violence is ravaging our union leadership in Owo Local Government Area, and we will not stand idly by.

“On behalf of the leadership and our entire members, we categorically condemn the barbaric attack on our Owo Branch Chairman, Comrade Adetunji Adene, an outrage that threatens the very foundation of our local government system.”
