Rijau made the clarification during a reconciliation meeting held in Makurdi on Sunday.

reports that the position was contained in a statement issued on Tuesday by the Benue State APC Chairman, Benjamin Omale, and made available to journalists in Makurdi.

According to Omale, the zonal chairman addressed internal concerns within the party over alleged plans to issue automatic tickets to certain aspirants ahead of the primaries.

Rijau explained that the APC in Benue remains united and will strictly follow party guidelines as well as provisions of the Electoral Act in conducting its primary elections.

He said, “Right from 2022 and 2023 when we took over power, we have been one family, and today we are all back to the fold as one united family.

“Principally, like I mentioned, based on party directives and the provisions of the Electoral Act, the mode of primaries should be consensus or direct. Initially, we decided to adopt direct primaries in Benue State, and that remains the decision.”

The clarification is expected to calm tensions among party members and aspirants who had expressed concerns over the possibility of automatic tickets.

Omale also commended President Bola Tinubu for initiating the reconciliation process, describing it as a significant move toward strengthening unity within the party in Benue State.

He said the President’s intervention demonstrated his commitment to the state and to party cohesion.

“I thank President Bola Tinubu for initiating the reconciliation meeting. This singular act shows how Mr President values and loves Benue State and its people,” Omale said.

He added that the meeting helped resolve disputes and bring stakeholders together ahead of the party’s internal elections.

Omale further reaffirmed the loyalty of the Benue APC to President Tinubu, pledging continued support for his administration.

“We assure the President of our total commitment and loyalty always. Benue is all for you,” he said.

He stated that the state chapter would continue to align with the President’s vision and development agenda for both Benue and the country at large.

Omale also praised Governor Hyacinth Alia for promoting unity and stability within the party, noting that his leadership has strengthened the APC in the state.

According to him, the governor’s efforts have contributed to peace-building and improved cohesion among party members.

He urged stakeholders to remain united as the APC prepares for its upcoming primaries and future elections in Benue State.

4. “They Are Among Us”: Tinubu’s Aide Drops Bombshell On Internal Complicity in Massive Scam.

Temitope Ajayi, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Information and Public Affairs, has acknowledged that it is difficult to rule out the involvement of internal figures in the ongoing controversy surrounding a counterfeit government agency.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The scandal centers on serious corruption allegations involving the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, and an individual named Prince Mathew Adeniyi Adeyemi, who claims to lead the non-existent Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC).

As previously highlighted by DAILY POST, this situation has sparked intense scrutiny regarding the integrity and accountability of the Tinubu administration. Prince Adeyemi has alleged that the fictitious PFIPC managed to secure budgetary allocations in the 2026 fiscal year and successfully opened several official accounts—including a Domiciliary Account, a Pounds Sterling account, and a Treasury Single Account (TSA)—with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Furthermore, Adeyemi has accused the Chief of Staff of facilitating his fraudulent appointment for a total of N600 million, claiming that N400 million was paid via proxies, leaving an outstanding balance of N200 million.

Addressing the possibility of internal collaboration, Ajayi pointed to the sheer brazenness of the operation as a red flag:

“Well, it’s not impossible, because even the audacity to go and operate inside the government federal secretariat is enough to suggest anything could have gone at some point”.

Ajayi expressed confusion over how the suspect obtained a falsified appointment letter attributed to the Chief of Staff, emphasizing that presidential appointments remain the exclusive prerogative of the President.

Dr. Taofiq Raimi, an All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, has come to the defense of the Presidency concerning the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) controversy. During an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time on Friday, Raimi argued that it is unfair to blame the Presidency for the incident, noting that even advanced nations are susceptible to sophisticated crimes. He drew a comparison to the September 11 terrorist attacks in the United States to illustrate his point that complex criminal activities can bypass security measures anywhere in the world. APC chieftain Dr. Taofiq Raimi has dismissed claims that the PFIPC scandal represents a failure of the Presidency. Raimi emphasized that sophisticated crimes can occur in any country, citing the 9/11 attacks in the U.S. as an example of how security can be breached despite high-level oversight. This defense follows reports of Adeyemi Adeniyi Matthew, an impostor who allegedly posed as the Director-General of the non-existent council, whom the Presidency is currently prosecuting.

Option 3: Focus on the Comparison In a recent televised interview, APC chieftain Dr. Taofiq Raimi suggested that the PFIPC impersonation scandal should not be viewed as a lapse by the Nigerian Presidency. Comparing the situation to the 9/11 attacks in America, Raimi argued that such sophisticated criminal acts are difficult to prevent, regardless of a nation’s advancement. The Presidency continues to clarify that the council mentioned by the suspect, Adeyemi Adeniyi Matthew, is non-existent and that the matter is under criminal investigation.
