She made the call during the flag-off ceremony for the distribution of 100 trucks of rice and N1.2 billion worth of palliatives to vulnerable Muslim communities across the 19 northern states and the Federal Capital Territory on Thursday.

The event, held at the Abba Kyari Banquet Hall, was described by the First Lady as a gesture of solidarity aimed at supporting the Muslim Ummah in northern Nigeria.

She noted that the intervention was designed to reflect the spirit of Eid el-Kabir, which she said embodies sacrifice, compassion, and gratitude, adding that the support was being extended to vulnerable Muslim households across the region.

Senator Tinubu also recalled a similar outreach in December 2025, when Christian communities in northern Nigeria received palliatives, saying the government remains committed to inclusivity.

She called on religious and community leaders to continue promoting peace and unity, stressing that a united Nigeria is better positioned to overcome its challenges.

The First Lady also expressed appreciation to Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, and community leaders for their prayers and support for the administration, while commending the Special Adviser to the President on Political Affairs, Alhaji Ibrahim Kabir Masari, and his team for coordinating the programme.

In his remarks, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani praised the First Lady for her consistent humanitarian efforts, describing her interventions as impactful and inclusive.

He said her actions demonstrate that leadership is not only about holding office but also about showing compassion through tangible support for the vulnerable.

The governor also referenced her earlier intervention to Christian families during the 2025 Christmas period, describing it as a strong symbol of unity and national cohesion.

He added that her outreach reflects fairness and inclusiveness, noting that Nigerians across religious and ethnic lines have benefited from her philanthropic efforts.

Governor Sani further reiterated Kaduna State’s commitment to reducing hardship through social welfare programmes, youth empowerment initiatives, agricultural development, and security investments aimed at improving citizens’ quality of life.

The Federal High Court in Abuja, presided over by Justice Mohammed Umar, has denied a request from African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore to postpone his defence in a cyberbullying case brought against him by the Department of State Services (DSS). The court has ordered that proceedings continue on July 16.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Defence Request: Sowore’s lawyer, Raphael Adakole, requested an adjournment until after the court’s annual vacation, citing the lead counsel’s absence from the country.

  • Opposition to Delay: DSS counsel Akinlolu Kehinde (SAN) opposed the request, noting that the defence had already requested 10 previous adjournments. He argued that granting another two-month delay would contradict the court’s existing order for an accelerated, day-to-day hearing under the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015.

  • Witness Testimony: During the proceedings, defence witness Deji Adeyanju testified regarding statements allegedly made by President Tinubu during a visit to Benue State, in which the President reportedly affirmed the democratic right of citizens to criticise and insult him without fear of suppression.

  • Cross-Examination: During cross-examination, Adeyanju acknowledged his previous role as Sowore’s lawyer and conceded that President Tinubu’s alleged remarks did not suggest that the law should be ignored if an individual commits an actual offence.
