Mrs. Adenike Oshinowo was confirmed for the position during Tuesday’s plenary session, becoming the first woman to hold the office in the Assembly’s history.

Reports indicate that before her elevation, Oshinowo served as the Deputy Clerk of the House.

A statement released on Wednesday through the office of the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa, described her appointment as a recognition of her commitment, experience, and long-standing service to the Assembly.

The statement further noted that other key appointments were also confirmed during the same sitting.

Mr. Olaosebikan Ebenezer, a former Deputy Director of Legislative Services, was approved as the new Deputy Clerk. Mrs. Latifat Ogbara was also confirmed as the substantive Chairman of the Lagos State House of Assembly Service Commission (LAHASCOM).

In addition, Mr. Remi Bello was confirmed as a Commissioner in LAHASCOM, while Mrs. Adeola Victoria Modupe was approved as the Commission’s Secretary.

According to the statement, the new appointments are expected to strengthen the administrative structure and efficiency of the Assembly.
